Abstrakt

This paper presents an approach to investigate the refrigerant’s influence on a reciprocating compressor. Highlight of this model is the one dimensional white box approach, which is general fluid independent. In comparison to compressor models from literature, this model handle with real gas behaviour. The used fluid property models were specially developed to be fast and accurate. This is given by the implementation of a hybrid approach based on the simplified Helmholtz Equation of State (EoS) and polynomial functions. The fluid model’s relative deviation is less than one percent. Using our approach, the simulation speed is higher by a factor of 20 compare to fluid models based only on the EoS. Considering rotational speeds between 30 Hz and 70 Hz and pressure ratios from five up to 13, results show maximum isentropic efficiency of 69 %, 63 %, 65 %, 50 % for the refrigerants R410A, R134a, R744, R32, respectively.
