Abstrakt

In the performance evaluation tests of household air-conditioning systems, compressors work under two-phase suction conditions at partial load modes. Currently, the calorometer equipments for single compressor performance measurement only support testing conditions with sufficient suction vapor superheat. Measurement for compressor performance under two phase suction is not available, which leads to the inconsistency of single compressor testing conditions and working conditions in real-world systems. In order to overcome the difficulty of lack of high-precision, automatic measurement approaches in previous studies, an algorithm for suction vapor quality determination is developed in this research and has been applied in rotary compressor calorometers. The accuracy and stability of suction vapor quality control has been improved significantly compared to previous studies. It is experimentally validated that the time required for automatically controlled system to reach two phase suction equilibrium can be reduced to <1 hour and that the suction vapor quality fluctuation can be suppressed to <±0.007.
